Privacy Policy
We only ask for information we need to check your hotel rate, answer your questions or help with a booking. This page explains what we collect and what happens to it.

1. Who we are
CheckMyHotelRate operates this website and is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. If you have any questions, you can reach us using the details below.
CheckMyHotelRate
privacy@checkmyhotelrate.com
2. Information we collect
What we receive depends on how you use the website.
Rate checks. Depending on what you send us, this may include your name, email address, the hotel, travel dates, guest details, room type, the hotel rate you found, breakfast or cancellation preferences, and any screenshots you choose to upload.
Contact requests. Your first name, email address and the message you send us.
Booking assistance. If you decide to book through us, we may ask for additional information needed to arrange and manage that booking. Any payment for the stay itself is handled directly by the hotel or booking provider, not collected by CheckMyHotelRate.
Website and technical information. Like most websites, some technical information (such as browser and device information) may be processed to operate and keep the website secure. If you use the map on a hotel page, Google Maps or Google Places may process information as part of showing that map.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this website and to improve it. Google Analytics is optional: it only starts after you accept analytics in our cookie banner, and you can reject it or change your choice at any time through Cookie settings in the footer. We do not send your rate-check or contact form details to Google Analytics, and we do not currently use Google Analytics for advertising or remarketing.
Live chat. Crisp provides the live chat on this website. If you choose to open or use the chat, Crisp may process the conversation and the technical or session information needed to provide it. We do not use Crisp for advertising tracking.
3. Why we use your information
We use the information you share with us to:
check the hotel rate you submitted
reply with the result
answer your questions
arrange a booking when you ask us to
provide customer service
keep the website secure and working properly
understand and improve the website, where permitted and subject to any required consent
comply with legal and administrative obligations
Where the law requires a legal basis for processing, we rely on: processing that is necessary to provide a service you asked for, or to take steps you requested beforehand (for example, checking a rate you sent us); our legitimate interest in answering enquiries and operating and securing the website, balanced against your rights; a legal obligation, where applicable; and your consent, where required for non-essential analytics or cookies. For the basic rate-check and contact forms, we process your information because it’s needed to carry out the service you asked for, not because you gave marketing consent.
4. No marketing emails
We do not use the details you submit for a rate check or contact request to send you promotional emails unless we introduce a separate optional marketing service in the future and you actively choose to join it.
There is no marketing consent checkbox anywhere on this website at this time.
5. Who we share information with
We only share your information where it’s necessary to provide our service. Depending on what you ask us to do, this can include:
Framer, for website hosting, functionality and forms
Tally, where the screenshot upload form is used
Google, where Maps or Places functionality is used
Crisp, if you choose to use our live chat
Google Analytics, if you accept optional analytics
our host agency and travel industry partners such as Fora, when needed to arrange a booking
the relevant hotel or booking provider, when you choose to proceed with a booking
professional advisers or authorities, where legally required
Google Analytics only receives information if you accept optional analytics; you can change this at any time through Cookie settings.
We do not sell your personal information.
6. International processing
Some of the tools and travel partners we use may process information outside the Netherlands or the European Economic Area. Where that happens and safeguards are legally required, we expect our providers and partners to have appropriate measures in place to protect your information. We will provide more detail here as our provider setup is finalised.
7. How long we keep information
Rate-check requests and ordinary contact enquiries are normally kept for no longer than 12 months.
If you go on to book through us, information related to that booking may be kept for longer where needed for the booking itself, customer service, accounting, resolving disputes, or other legal obligations. Technical and analytics data, once in use, follows the retention settings and legal requirements of the relevant service. In some cases we may delete information sooner than these periods where appropriate.
8. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over the information we hold about you, including the right to:
access the information we hold about you
correct inaccurate information
ask us to delete your information
restrict how we use it
object to certain uses
receive a copy of your information in a portable format, where applicable
withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@checkmyhotelrate.com.
You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. In the Netherlands, this is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information we hold. No method of storing or transmitting information is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep your information safe.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our website, tools or service change, for example when we publish a dedicated cookie policy. The most current version will always be published on this page.
